Getting wet to dry kit

Members of the Ogwen Valley Mountain Rescue Organisation (OVMRO) will be starting 2013 with an adventurous fund-raising event; they’ll be swimming across Llyn Ogwen in Snowdonia on New Year’s Day!

OVMRO is a registered charity. It is dependent almost entirely on voluntary financial donations. Its fifty members are all volunteers who provide a “free” search and rescue service in Northern Snowdonia and further afield.

So far this year the team has responded to 134 calls for assistance. Some of these have required the team to be involved for several consecutive days. This level of response means that there is often very little time to dry equipment and prepare it in readiness for the next call-out.

The team needs to raise £1,500 to fund the purchase of an industrial de-humidifier to dry their equipment after it’s been used on a rescue call-out.

If you can support this event and help the team please make a donation.
