We have entered a team in this years Oggie 8 Challenge. The aim is to finish a route of 15miles, over 8 of the biggest peaks in Snowdonia, with about 7,800 feet of ascent (about the same as climbing Snowdon more than 3 times) in the fastest time possible.

The event is to raise money for the Ogwen Valley Mountain Rescue Organisation.

The UK’s Mountain Rescue Teams are all voluntary organisations and receive no government funding; they depend on the generosity of the public to continue their excellent work.

There work is not limited to helping walkers and climbers in the mountains, they all provide help to the other 3 emergency services, giving them their specialist support in all sorts of situations, from motoring accidents to search and rescue operations. The teams operate in the most inhospitable regions of the UK, in all weathers and at all times and on a voluntary basis.

Unlike the rest of Europe their help is available free to all, but this is dependant on the continued support of people like you!

We’re looking for sponsorship to complete the event, as much or as little as you can afford. You can either get in touch with Jonathan or you can make a donation at the website listed below.

So dig deep people!
